The short version
Hanzi Constellation is built to know as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, and we do not collect, store, or sell personal data. Your study progress lives on your own device.
What we don’t collect
- No accounts, names, emails, or passwords.
- No advertising identifiers and no sale of data to anyone.
- No tracking cookies. The website works without cookies; the app makes no network requests in normal use.
What stays on your device
Your progress (which characters you have marked as learned, your study sets, and settings) is stored locally — in your browser’s local storage on the web, and in the app’s own storage on mobile. It is included in your device’s normal backups and never sent to us. Deleting the app or clearing browser data deletes it.
Purchases
Payments are processed by Apple (App Store), Google (Google Play), or Stripe (web). We receive confirmation that a purchase happened, not your payment details. Web purchases issue a license key delivered to the email address you provide at checkout, which is used only to send and re-send that key.
Analytics
The website may use cookieless, aggregate analytics (page counts, no individual profiles). If that changes, this policy will change first.
Children
The product collects no personal data from anyone, including children.
